MicroRNAs as pathway profiling tools

Associate Professor Nicole Cloonan, School of Biological Sciences, University of Auckland

Over the last decade, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) has been as revolutionary for the study of transcriptomes as microarrays were in the decade before.

The ability to simultaneously explore gene expression and expressed gene sequence has led to some surprising results in the world of mRNAs, but even more surprising results in the world of microRNAs (miRNAs).

Associate Professor Nicole Cloonan will present some of these surprising results, as well as results from recent high throughput functional genomics experiments.
