The secrets of infidelity and long life

Associate Professor Shinichi Nakagawa – Evolution & Ecology Research Centre and School of Biology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of New South Wales, Australia.

In this two part talk, Associate Professor Shinichi Nakagawa will cover both 1) stories on infidelity, and 2) stories on long living. He will present stories on interesting dynamics of extra-pair (group) mating in two species of sparrows: house sparrows and hedge sparrows (also known as dunnocks). Both sparrow stories will challenge conventional views. In the second part of the talk, he will present three meta-analyses which investigated how to live long, and will give some advice on long, healthy living.
