Many of the 400+ conservation translocation breeding programmes around the globe struggle to use existing methods to choose the ‘best’ individuals for captive pairing due to shallow or incomplete pedigrees.

In this talk, Associate Professor Steeves will discuss how members of the Conservation, Systematics and Evolution Team (ConSERT) are developing an effective and efficient conservation genomics approach that may eliminate the need for robust pedigrees.
