Shorebirds are renowned for their trans-hemispheric migrations, the most epic of which are the week-long non-stop flights of New Zealand’s bar-tailed godwits as they travel to and from their Alaskan breeding grounds.

In this seminar Associate Professor Phil Battley will discuss what is known about the basis of consistent migration timing in godwits, and the evidence for flexibility in a rapidly changing world.
