Our department
Here at the School of Biological Sciences (SBS) we offer state-of-the-art programmes and courses for students and for graduates wishing to acquire additional skills.
We offer students, individuals wishing to upskill, and the public sector, a wide range of world renowned undergraduate and postgraduate subjects, facilities and services. Our school collaborates closely with several leading research centres and hosts the Centres for Genomics and Proteomics, for Biodiversity and Biosecurity, for Microbial Innovation and the Bioinformatics Institute. The Institute for Innovation in Biotechnology, located in the Thomas building complex, operates the first dedicated bio-incubator in New Zealand and includes companies representing a broad spectrum of the bio-industry. The School of Biological Sciences offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for furthering knowledge and we welcome all who share our sense of discovery.
