Entry requirements

Make sure you have met the entry requirements before applying for your course to ensure a quick and easy enrolment.

If you would like to study at the University of Auckland, you will have to meet specific entry requirements before you can be offered a place in a programme.

School leavers must have a University Entrance qualification based on NCEA, CIE, IB or another recognised, equivalent qualification to be admitted to the University. If you have studied at another tertiary institution in New Zealand or overseas we will need to assess your results to determine your eligibility for admission to the University of Auckland.

You normally must have reached the age of 16 years by 31 December in the year preceding that in which admission is sought to be eligible for admission and meet certain standards of English language proficiency.

In addition, there are entry requirements for some degrees offered at the University of Auckland. These additional requirements vary depending on the programme you are applying for. Further details on requirements for entry into specific undergraduate degree programmes may be found on the degree-specific entry requirements page.
